Can I change the size of an embedded cellblock? - Top
Yes. By default, embedded cellblocks are 400x370 pixels however you can change the height and width by modifying the values in the embed code. Just look for the two places in the embed code where you see width='400' and height='370' and change the numbers to what you want. Make sure you change the values in both places or it won't work.

How do you make money? - Top
As our user base grows, we intend to make money through advertising and by offering premium subscription services

Why don't my pictures / videos show up? - Top
This could be for a number of reasons:
  1. The cellblock you sent content to is in Preview Mode, and the owner must approve your content before it's made visible.
  2. The cellblock you sent content to is turned off (not accepting content).
  3. Your mobile carrier is taking a while to deliver the pix / flix message to the cellblock.
  4. You may have mistyped the cellblock email address and sent the message to the wrong cellblock.
  5. The player you are viewing is paused.
  6. The pix / flix message you sent exceeds our file size limits. See our file size limits.
  7. The photo or video you sent is in an unsupported file format. See our supported file formats.

Is there an easy way to add many files to my cellblock at once from my computer? - Top
If you are a Windows user, you can quickly and easily add many files to your cellblock with the desktop widget. Simply drag & drop photos and videos from your desktop onto the widget and it will update instantly with the new content, on your desktop and wherever it's embedded. Alternatively, you can use the desktop widget's file browser (click on the folder icon), to select multiple files for upload from your computer. NOTE: desktop drag-and-drop and file upload require Windows and Java 1.5 or higher.

Can cellblock process photos and videos as multiple attachments to a single email from a computer or cell phone? - Top
Currently, this is supported for all major US mobile phone carriers except for Sprint. Sprint users, you can either send multiple photos in one email, or videos one at a time.

Why doesn't my desktop cellblock work? - Top
The desktop cellblock feature requires Windows and Java 1.5 or higher currently. Please visit www.sun.com to get the latest Java implementation if you don't already have it. Also, make sure the desktop cellblock that you downloaded is an executable .jar file. Internet Explorer often renames downloaded cellblocks as a .zip and renders them inoperable. If the downloaded cellblock has a .zip extension, simply rename it with a .jar extension. Just double-click on the .jar file to open it.

Can I email desktop cellblocks to my friends? - Top
Yes. That's one of the cool things about desktop cellblocks. You can attach them to any email and send them around. Anyone who receives the email that has a Windows PC and Java on their machine will be able to open it and view its contents. No knowledge of cellblock or account is required. A desktop cellblock is the same compact size (150kb) regardless of how many photos and videos it contains so it is very efficient and it can be updated after it has been distributed. No need to clog up inboxes with huge picture attachments anymore.

How can I keep spam from getting into my cellblock? - Top
You can easily keep spam out of your cellblock:
  1. Put your cellblock in Preview Mode. That way, you can approve all content on the cellblock's Monitor page before it gets into your cellblock.
  2. Don't publish your cellblock's email address. That way, spammers won't know how to send content to your cellblock. If you want select individuals to be able to send in content, simply give them the cellblock's email address through word-of-mouth, email, instant message, etc.

Can I keep my cellblock from being viewed by people that I don't want to see it? - Top
Yes, simply password protect your cellblock and only those that you give the password to will be able to see it.

Can I embed a password protected cellblock on another site? - Top
Not at this time, we expect to fix this in an upcoming release.

What file formats do you support? - Top
We support photos in JPG, GIF, BMP and PNG formats. We support videos in 3G2, 3GP (without audio), AVI, MOV and WMV formats.

What is the maximum size limit for photos and video? - Top
The maximum size for both photos and videos is 10MB.

Why can't I hear the sound on a video file of a supported format? - Top
All video files of a given format are not created equally. Roughly, each video file has two major pieces, the visual data and the audio data. Within a fixed video file format, e.g, AVI, the visual data and audio data can be of a number of data format types, called codecs. While we support the vast majority of audio/visual codecs present in common video file types, we (or anyone else, for that matter) don't support them all. We are constantly working to expand our data format support, so if you submit a video file and experience problems hearing or seeing it, please send it to feedback@cellblock.com so we can continue to improve the product.

I rotated a video on my cellblock's Monitor page but it doesn't appear rotated when I view it full-size in the pop up window. What's up with that? - Top
This is a known issue and we're working on it. :)
